Welcome to Lang.Guru! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our language‑learning application (the “App”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1) Eligibility & Acceptable Use
- Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse‑engineer, or otherwise interfere with the App’s normal operation or security.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2) Accounts & Security
To access certain features, you must create an account. We use Firebase Authentication (a Google service) for secure sign‑in. Your per‑user usage data and settings are stored in private storage on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Keep your credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.
3) Content & Features
- The App provides educational language‑learning content and related features.
- There is an optional feature that teaches common profane expressions in the target language. It is disabled by default and may not be suitable for children under 13.
- You may not upload, share, or otherwise use the App to disseminate unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
4) Children’s Use
The App is generally suitable for young learners; however, the profanity feature is intended for older users and is off by default. Parents/guardians should supervise use by children under 13. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) as described in our Privacy Policy.
5) Intellectual Property
Except for user‑generated content, the App (including text, lessons, graphics, logos, and software) is owned by Lang.Guru, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
6) Third‑Party Services
The App integrates with third‑party services, including Firebase (Google) and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Your use of these components may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.
7) Termination & Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or posed a risk to other users or our services.
8) Disclaimers
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.
9) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lang.Guru, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.
10) Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11) Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws principles. Venue and jurisdiction for any disputes will lie exclusively in the courts located in the United States, unless otherwise required by law.
